Learn to Clog Dance with Sheri

I first saw clog dancing at the Salem Art Fair in Salem, Oregon in the early 1970s.  The group performing was the Marysville Cloggers from Corvallis, Oregon.  I didn't hear about clogging again until 1997, when my step aerobics instructor began taking lessons offered through the local community college.  My life was in an upheaval at that time including a move so clogging again went by the wayside.  Two years later, I was talking with some of my husband's friends who said they had just started clog dancing lessons.  I went to the next class and have been clogging ever since.

Why have this website?

The following is a grouping of beginning level steps with videos (click on the name of the step) you can view and download to your computer for a quick reference.  It follows the syllabus for my beginning clogging class.  The movies are in .mpg format.

Note:  The step "Rock Step" is different from the "rock step" used in a step description, which is a transfer of weight from the foot just used for the double step to the ball of the other foot in a rocking motion and returning your weight to the beginning foot.  Also, a "Double" is different from a "double step" used in a step description, which is a "run" opposed to two runs and and rock step.  Confused?  Read the "How to" tips and watch the movies.  Still confused?  Email me at the link on the menu.  If you are in my class, give me a call or drop by my home.
